Lead time depends on material, complexity and quantity. It is confirmed together with the quote.
What materials can be cut with a laser?
Laser cutting is suitable for acrylic, plexiglass, plywood, wood, MDF, cardboard, paper, some plastics, and other sheet materials. The possibility of cutting depends on the material type, thickness, density, and required final result. Some materials are not suitable for laser cutting because of their composition, melting behaviour, fumes, or risk of damaging the equipment.
What thickness can be cut with a laser?
Laser cutting is suitable for thin and medium-thickness sheet materials. The maximum thickness depends on the material, machine power, sheet quality, and complexity of the part. For very thick materials, or for materials that are sensitive to heat, CNC routing may be a better option.
What edge finish do different materials have after laser cutting?
After laser cutting, the edge has a thermally processed finish. Acrylic and plexiglass usually have a smooth, clean, slightly glossy edge, so additional polishing is often not required. Wood, plywood, and MDF may have slight darkening or heat marks along the edge. For plastics, edge quality depends on the material type, thickness, and how the material reacts to heat.
How accurate is laser cutting?
Laser cutting provides high accuracy and is suitable for complex contours, small details, lettering, decorative elements, holes, and serial production. The final accuracy depends on the material, thickness, drawing, machine settings, and complexity of the shape. If your project requires specific tolerances, they should be mentioned before production.
Do you work with your own material or material supplied by the customer?
Yes. We laser-cut material from our stock and also customer-supplied sheets, after checking type, thickness and condition. Quotes for jobs on customer material are prepared on individual terms.
